This is evidently a gourmet delight in West Virginia! LOL That is where Margo first had one and has been making them ever since.
You will need:
1 1/2 lb ground beef
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 1/2 tsp chili powder
1 cup water
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbsp flour
Combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, chili powder and water in a saucepan. Work beef with a potato masher until fine. Cook 1/2 hour or until water is just about gone.
Add ketchup. Mix flour with a little water to make a smooth paste. Stir into meat mixture and cook until thick.
Use as a topping on your favorite dogs along with your other favorites.
